The UNESCO headquarters hosted recently in Paris the work of the 8th meeting of the Lisbon Convention Committee on Recognition of Higher Education Studies. The Lisbon Convention is currently ratified by 54 states in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and other regions of the world, since Romania has been a signatory since 1998.

Between 23rd and 26th of June, a series of events took place in Bologna, Italy, on the 20th Anniversary of the Bologna Declaration on the Upgrading and Restructuring of Higher Education Systems.

On June 25th, CNRED representatives participated in the conference on the closure of the "INTERACT Plus - Integrated Services for Migrants, Social and Intercultural Dialogue" project, implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Romanian Office, in partnership with the Ecumenical Association of the Churches of Romania – AIDRom, Schottener Social Services Foundation, Global Help Association Craiova and the Romanian Association for Promotion of Quality and Success Practices Braşov.

ENIC-NARIC member centers met for the 26th Annual Conference in Cologne, Germany, in the period 16-18 June. The event was organized by the Conference of Ministers of Education and Culture of the Länder (KMK) with the support of the German NARIC Center (ZAB) and under the patronage of the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO.

At the beginning of the week, CNRED attended a seminar organized by the European Commission on the analysis of the mobility of European workers within the EU, which was published in the "Movement of skilled labor" study.

The European Commission publishes annually, starting in 2013, statistical data on the functioning of the IMI network, which highlights the 5 performance indicators for IMI information requests - the Professional Qualifications component, module coordinated by CNRED, and the results of Romania, currently these being positioned above the European average...

During 9-10 May, at the invitation of CNRED, representatives of the authorities registered in the Internal Market Information System participated in the training session for IMI users in "George Emil Palade" Hall of the "Gr.T.Popa" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi.

During April 23-24, CNRED received the visit of a delegation from the Center for Information and Communication Technologies in Education (CTICE) from the Republic of Moldova. This meeting is part of the series of documentary visits initiated last year for the exchange of best practices and has been aimed at deepening the mechanisms for authenticating study documents for citizens traveling abroad, as well as procedures for the recognition and equivalence of diplomas obtained abroad.

The European Association for International Education (EAIE) organized from 8th to 12th of April at the University of Bordeaux, France, a series of training sessions for staff from educational institutions, as well as for public or private authorities.

UNESCO held its second intergovernmental meeting on 18-22 March 2019 in Paris to adopt a text on the Global Convention on the Recognition of Higher Education Diplomas. This meeting comes after the works that took place in December 2018.
